Ingredients Need To Make Bengali Style Aloo Chop or Potato Pakora

Well, as I am preparing at home so its better to experiment the recipe with many ingredients to make the health benefit and also take care of the taste part little more. The road side vendors are simply making aloo chop with very basic or minimalist ingredients. Let's explore the things you need to prepare aloo chop recipe.
  • 1 cup besan + 1 Cup rice atta
  • 4-5 boil potatoes [medium size]
  • 1 big onion finely chopped
  • 2-3 gree chili finely chop
  • 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tbsp raw cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tbsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tbsp salt
  • 1 tbsp any kind of masala [Magi masala/ Veg Table Masala / Chat Masala]
  • 1/2 tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • Oil for frying

How To Prepare Bengali Style Aloo Chop at Home

  • First of all heat a PAN and put some oil in that.
  • Next add cumin seeds and stir for few minutes.
  • Next, add chopped onions, green chili into the pan and fry till they start changing color.
  • Add ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric powder and masala to taste.
  • Now add the boiled potatoes after peeling their skin to the pan.
  • Mix them all together and make them tight dough.
  • Now prepare a batter with the remaining ingredients. Make sure it is thick enough.
  • Now heat enough oil on a PAN and then put the chops one by one after dipping on the batter.
  • Fry them till the color changes to red.
  • Serve them hot with muri/rice flakes/puffed rice and have an awesome evening. People like me always enjoy such snacks with tea. :)
